On behalf of the AmCham Real Estate and Sustainability Committee, we invite you to a meeting entitled The Impact of the Energy Crisis on the Real Estate Sector and the Achievement of ESG Objectives. Our speakers will be Joanna Mroczek, Senior Director, Head of Strategic Consultancy and Piotr Iwanowski, Technical Management, CBRE; Emilia Dębowska, Sustainability Director, Panattoni; and Mariusz Wawer, Head of Governmental Relations & Sustainability, 3M and the Chair of the AmCham Sustainability Committee.

We will discuss:

- the impact of ESG and the risk of energy crises on the real estate market in Poland;

- how ESG awareness translates into specific building challenges (owners, managers, tenants);

- how energy transition affects business and its efficiency: ESG responsibility perspective versus business perspective (costs);

- main challenges and best practices from the developer and the end user perspective.

She has been working at Panattoni for 9 years, currently in the position of Director of Sustainability. She is responsible for integrating sustainable development practices into the company's business strategy, ESG, BREEAM certification, pursuing the carbon neutrality goal, and changing the image of industrial warehouses towards convenience.
As a result of the implemented changes Panattoni became the first developer to introduce the BREEAM NC certification for industrial space into its development standard - first at the Good level, then gradually upgraded to Very good, and now Excellent. To date, Panattoni has completed environmental certification for facilities in Europe totaling more than 10 million sqm - including Poland's first BREEAM certificate at the highest level - Outstanding. A further 6.5 million sqm awaits assessment. Panattoni's certification of buildings goes hand in hand with real changes to their surroundings - every year the developer, among other things, installs several hundred vehicle charging stations, several hundred leisure zones for employees and develops millions of sqm of green areas with Nature-Based Solutions (NBS).
Emilia Dębowska graduated from WSB-National Louis University (Marketing and Management). She also completed Business Sustainability Management at the University of Cambridge and postgraduate studies at the College of Management and Finance of Warsaw School of Economics (product and service management). She has been working in the real estate industry for over 16 years in Europe and USA.

Piotr Iwanowski

Piotr has been working at CBRE since 2021. He is responsible for coordinating the technical processes of buildings from the CBRE Investment Management client portfolio located, among others, in Warsaw, Gdańsk, Poznań. Piotr has over 11 years of professional experience, he has worked for clients such as Golub GetHouse, ZST and has a number of competencies that include: developing of a newly built high-rise building, creating technical, fire and administrative procedures for the newly opened facilities, conducting training for building service teams (administration, fire safety, critical management). In his daily work, he also deals with the preparation and implementation of the annual building maintenance budget, cooperation and supervision over companies providing services (cleaning, security, maintenance, fire protection), supervision over fit-out works and representing the property management team. He is a certified ited BREEAM-in-use assessor and a graduate of the AGH University of Science and Technology and the Poznań University of Technology.

Joanna Mroczek, Senior Director with over 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate market, has been working at CBRE for 15 years, also serving as a member of the Management Board. Joanna specializes in optimizing organizational processes, building teams and competitive advantage of the company. From 2022 Joanna is responsible for developing CBRE's strategic consulting in Poland offering advanced advisory services for tenants and property owners. It is a team of 20 specialists from various departments, specializing in consulting in crucial business areas such as work environment and change management, supply chain management, market analyzes and forecasts, retail chains and facilities, ESG and sustainable development, digital and capital transformation, consulting for public sector and others.
Joanna is a graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics and AMP Management Studies at IESE Business School in Barcelona and the Stern Leadership Academy program at Stanford GSP University.
