In May this year, Poland's government unveiled the details of the new stimulus plan (so called "The Polish Deal") designed to bolster the post-pandemic economy. On July 26, a draft bill has been put out for public consultation. The Plan is to introduce important amendments to the Polish tax system. Therefore, the AmCham Tax & Financial Services Committee is kicking off a series of meetings entitled The Polish Deal (Polski Ład) – What Changes in Taxation await us? We will start with KPMG introductory session that will take place on Thursday, September 30, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Webex. Our speakers will be KPMG representatives, Mr. Andrzej Marczak, Partner, Head of Tax in CEE, Head of Personal Income Tax Services in Poland, and Mr. Paweł Barański, Partner, Head of Tax and Legal.

We will discuss:

— Personal income tax including tax-free amount, new tax threshold, 9% nondeductible health care contributions, tax relief for so-called "middle-class taxpayers," new tax reliefs (repatriation to Poland, joint taxation), tax calculations for employees and entrepreneurs, new rules for taxation of rental income;

— Innovation reliefs;

— Investment reliefs and investment deals;

— Changes in withholding tax (WHT);

— Amendments to the Estonian CIT regulations;

— VAT groups and other changes in VAT;
