AmCham Poland is proud to support the Jan Karski Educational Foundation and the University of Warsaw in organizing The Great Power and Poland: 1919-2019 100th Anniversary of Polish- American Diplomatic Relations on October 4th. The conference will be accompanied by a ceremony honoring Professor Peter F. Krogh with the Spirit of Jan Karski Award. Jan Karski was a Polish officer, diplomat and courier, the first who informed the Allies about the tragedy of European Jews.
The main goal of the conference is to recognize the depth of Polish-American relations and to commemorate several anniversaries celebrated in 2019, including the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Poland and USA, the 100th anniversary of the School of Foreign Service of Georgetown University, the 30th anniversary of the start of Polish democratic transformation and the 20th anniversary of Poland's membership in NATO.
The conference will be an international gathering of Polish and American representatives of public administration and the diplomatic corps, including former U.S. Ambassadors to Poland, Daniel Fried, and Stephen D. Mull, Robert Kupiecki, former Polish Ambassador to USA and Professor Roman Kuźniar among others.
It will take place on Friday, October 4 at the University of Warsaw, ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Professor Jan Baszkiewicz Hall and is free of charge for AmCham members.
