We are pleased to remind you about our next on-line AmCham Monthly Meeting on Wednesday, May 27th, at 1:30 p.m. Our guest speaker with be the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK), Mr. Tomasz Chróstny, who may soon become the most powerful regulator in Poland. AmCham Chairman Tony Housh will lead the discussion focused on the UOKiK's current priorities and legislative changes due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
We would like to hear from Mr. Tomasz Chróstny mainly about the new foreign investment restrictions that grants the President of UOKiK the authority to control and be able to block investments in domestic companies from entities outside the EU. The purpose of the new law is to protect public order, public security, or public health, but it also creates another layer of legal uncertainty and hinders the process of investment in Polish companies for U.S. investors.
We also want to talk with Mr. Chróstny about UOKiK's approach to the anti-crisis activities of companies operating in Poland and discuss the Office's long-term goals.
We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, May 27th, at 1:30 – 3 p.m.
All registrants will receive access link after the registration closes (May 26th, 5 p.m.)
