On May 15, 2023, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki appointed Jadwiga Emilewicz as the government plenipotentiary for Polish-Ukrainian development cooperation and, at the request of the Minister of Development Funds and Regional Policy, to the office of the Secretary of State.
In 2019-2020, she was a minister in the second cabinet of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki; from November 15, 2019 as the Minister of Development, and from April 9, 2020, she additionally took the office of Deputy Prime Minister. Co-author of the Financial and Anti-Crisis Shield for companies struggling with an unprecedented crisis during the Covid-19 pandemic. These solutions made it easier for many Polish entrepreneurs to survive and saved jobs. She was in the government until October 6, 2020. Since 2019, she has been a member of the Sejm and a member of the Law and Justice parliamentary club.
Earlier, in 2018-2019, she was the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology, and in 2015-2018, she was Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Development.
In the years 1999-2002 she worked at the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
A graduate of the Institute of Political Sciences of the Jagiellonian University. At the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University, she opened a doctoral dissertation. She is a scholarship holder of the University of Oxford and the program of the American Council on Germany, Dräger Foundation, ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius. Since 2003, she has been associated with the European University of Fr. J. Tischner in Krakow.
Social activist, culture manager, author of many scientific publications.
She speaks English, German and French.
She has three sons.
Rebuild Ukraine Working Group
We want to invite you to the Rebuild Ukraine working group meeting with Ms. Jadwiga Emilewicz, Secretary of State, Government Plenipotentiary for Polish-Ukrainian Development Cooperation.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 10:00-12:00 a.m. at the Sheraton Grand, 2 Bolesława Prusa, Warsaw.
In May 2023, Ms. Jadwiga Emilewicz was appointed the Government Plenipotentiary for Polish-Ukrainian Development Cooperation and the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Development Funds and Regional Policy. Her tasks will include supporting Polish – Ukrainian cooperation on the governmental level and working with associations, chambers of commerce, and other national entities involved in Polish-Ukrainian development cooperation.
The meeting, which opens a dialogue between AmCham and Ms. Emilewicz in her new role, will be an occasion to learn the Ministry's priorities and planned activities in Ukraine's rebuilding and reconstruction. We also want to discuss the role of business, especially of AmCham member companies, in the recovery process today and in the future.
